Another Christmas Present Completed

I'm working here trying to complete my Christmas presents. I have a zealous agenda and I'm hoping to get to everything and get everything done.

A while back I posted about my client finding an abandon fawn on the road. She nurtured this girl (even taking her to the vet once) like a baby.

Finally the fawn was old enough to roam on her own though she'd come back every evening to feed and sleep. The goal was to eventually release her back to her natural home.

One night Juanita Faye failed to return for her evening feeding. They searched for her for awhile and finally found her dead. Apparently a predator had taken advantage of Juanita Faye's innocence.

In honor of Juanita Faye I made this frame up as a Christmas gift for my client. I hope I did justice to her memory.

Christmas Cards Are Done!

I finished 32 Christmas cards in 2 days. I'm still about 5 short but I need to get on to other projects I want to make for Christmas gifts. The majority of my cards were stamped and colored...
thought some I used clear glitter stickers. The stickers were left over from another project and they worked great for a quick card idea.
I put my Cuttlebug to work also. After a while I got tired of stamping and coloring and wanted to speed up the project and the Cuttlebug allowed me to do just that.
This is my main card for this season as we live and work on a wildlife ranch. I try to find a image that relates to our lifestyle and this one with the deer worked. The inside of the card I computer generated "Merry Christmas to our deer friends". Quite fitting don't you think?

Been MIA

Well perhaps I haven't been posting lately but I HAVE been busy crafting.

This is a page (February) from a calendar I'm working on for my son. Each year I make him a calendar for his cubicle at work. So far I have 5 pages done and this one is my favorite.

Back to my craft room, I have lots to do before Christmas.

A Card Revisited

This card is resurrected from a 2006 idea, I believe it was originally featured in an Autumn Leaves calendar (don't quote me on that). Anyway, I came across it again and thought I do it up.

The top of the card has a little mini album of 5 (you could do more) pictures of various years.
Each picture is marked with the age on a little scallop circle.

The inside saying I generated using my computer.

Calendar Project

Here is a peek of the cutest calendar project.

I purchased this kit from http://gotcrafts.typepad.com/, they have a lot of cute kit idea's. I was so happy with the way it turned out. I'm sure the subject of my calendar made it a little sweeter but then I'm bias anyway.

Not The Most Fun

I'm not sure about anyone else but I have a hard time designing sympathy cards. I found myself sadly faced with the the need to make two sympathy cards. I always imagine how I would feel when I opened the card. I like to keep them simple yet expressive.

Here are the 2 completed cards. Perhaps they will provide some inspiration when you are faced with the sad situation of having to make a sympathy card.

Too Cute!

One of my clients found this fawn abandoned on the road. She took it home to foster it and save it. They guesstimate this little one to be about 10 days old. He/she (?) will melt your heart in seconds.

So Excited!

Well, if you have old CD's laying around here is one idea of what to do with them. I made this ABC book for my grandson and I'm thrilled at how it turned out. Each page has a picture, and boy "V" was a hard one, finally came up with "vacation". Here is a peek inside...

I enjoyed whipping this up. It really worked up fast as I started it yesterday and finished it today. So, get out those old CD's and play.

Having Fun on a Sunday

I made this card for my grandson and used some new stamps my wonderful sister bought for me.

I was pleased how this turned out, it looks like the turtle and fish are suspended off the card. I colored the image with Prisma pencils and then blended it with mineral spirits. Used a bit of glitter pen here and there and used a Copic to outline parts of the image.

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Today is my hubby's 55th birthday. I whipped up two cards for him, one from me and one from "my" dog. I have a miniture pincher that is often referred to as "the red dog". Hubby isn't particularly fond of my dog so I thought something unconventional would work.

I colored the dogs card with Prisma pencils and used some orderless mineral spirits for blending. For my card I used markers and a bit of a sparkly glitter pen. I worked together the image from 3 different stamp sets. The hat is a Studio G stamp, the heart balloon is from an Angel Company set called Artsy Owls and the guy is also from TAC and the set is called Little Friends.

Happy birthday honey, hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks Sue!

Have I ever mentioned how wonderful my sister is? I just returned home from a vacation spent with my family in Michigan. Whenever I'm in Michigan my scrappin' sister, Sue, always jam packs a scrapping agenda for me and this visit was no different.

I was able to go to the Great American Scrapbook Convention compliments of sis. This is the first time I've been to such an event and it was like a toddlers Christmas for me! We spent hours looking and shopping. Sue also took me to Archiver's, Live Laugh Love and Scrap and Scrapbook Emporium, I mean truly what more could I ask for. She always treats me like a princess.

I wanted to do something for her to show her how special she is to me. I put together this canvas layout that I wanted to share with you. The pictures I used are from this past visit. I'm excited to send it to her. I wish everyone could be blessed with a sister like mine!

Happy Mother's Day!

Okay, I'm a little late in posting. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. This is a little gift I made for my mother-in-law. The colors actually do not show up well in the photo. I purchased this kit for Valentines day and never made it up so I decided to use it for Mother's Day and it worked out well. The paper is pink and red with just a hint of orange and yellow. I used the orange as my accent color to pull the project away from the Valentine's theme. I filled the box (which is from the bare naked line) with pink and orange colored Hershey kisses. My MIL loved it and that was what was most important ;-)

Happy Housewarming!

I made this layout and framed it for a housewarming gift for my son and daughter-in-law. I painted the wood frame and it doesn't look so good in the picture but it looks good in person. You can't tell that I also added a little glitter pen on the scroll and on the printed paper.

The saying is what prompted me to do the frame. I lifted it from a layout I found in Creative Scrapper's gallery. Sorry that I don't know the name of the author so I can give proper credit where credit is due.

Time to wrap it up and mail it out. Hope they like it.

BFF

Gosh, it has been a long time since my last entry. Jeff and I recently went to Florida to visit his Mom. While we were there we spent an afternoon with his niece, Marissa, bowling. It was great fun and I wanted to send Marissa this frame to share the memories with her. She is just 8 years old and quite the "poser" when it comes to getting her picture taken. Thought I'd share the finished project with you.

Project 365 Week Three

One more week of 2009 gone! But...one more week documented for my grandson or perhaps my great grandchildren. I spent this particular week in Michigan visiting my family. My Mom celebrated her 85th birthday. It wasn't hard at all taking a picture a day for this week, it was harder deciding what picture to use.

I think we all have the idea of how I translated Project 365 using my stash so I won't be posting anymore layouts. Unless of course a week is so exciting that I need to share it here LOL! Lets keep up with the challenge this project holds. Only 342 pictures to
go.

Project 365 Layout Update

Here is my version of Project 365 week 2 layout. I'm keeping it simple, also using minimal embellishments. Needing to fit 52 double page layouts in a 3 ring binder is going to become a trick if I get to elaborate with lots of "lumpy" stuff. I hope you all are still following through. I'm having a ball with this, it is sometimes a challenge of what my picture will be for the day but that's the fun of it.
